We would like to offer you a warm welcome to Chinley Day Nursery, we are a purpose built nursery for 50 children ages 0 – 5 years. Our nursery comprises of 4 play rooms consisting of a 0-2 year old room, 2-3 year old room and a 3-4 year old room. We are a family run business with over 25 years’ experience in childcare and education.

All our staff within our setting offer a caring and welcoming environment for both children, parents and carers. As a team we aim to create a learning and play environment for children to enhance their development and social skills. All of our staff are First Aid and Safeguarding trained and hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education. Our staff attend regular training to build on their professional development, the development of the nursery and bring new ideas into our setting. We aim to offer a warm, stimulating and caring environment with a well-structured nursery day that entails free play and planned activities, either in the playrooms, outside areas or the sensory room.

Our children enjoy freshly cooked balanced and nutritional meals whilst at nursery, they are prepared onsite by our professional cook. We are able to cater for all dietary requirements.

Full and Part time places
At Chinley Day Nursery we offer full and part time places to suit your childcare needs in Chinley. Nursery opens from 7.30am until 6pm allowing parents to be flexible with the hours they need for childcare in Chinley.
Online learning Journals
Our online journals are accessed through Tapestry. You will receive access to your child's online journal which is updated each week with photos and development reports which involves you at every milestone your child reaches.
Healthy Meals
All our meals are cooked by our on-site cook Dawn. We offer cereal and toast for breakfast and hot healthy fresher cooked lunch. Tea is a healthy substantial snack to ensure our little leaners are energised till home time.
Outdoor Play
We boast a large outdoor play area all around the nursery with access to all rooms. Our children love to play outdoors so our extensive garden ensure every child can play and learn outdoors in our well equipped and developmentally friendly play areas.
Free 15 hour 2 or 3 year old government Funded Places. We have all year round funded places enabling you to use funding towards all year round nursery provision. We are happy to help with funding applications and to discuss childcare needs.
SEND
At Chinley Day Nursery we have two SEND coordinators who support our families and practitioners through all aspects of Special Educational Needs. We pride ourselves on identifying early signs of development delay ensuring early interventions are put in place to help children get the support they need to reach their full potential.
EYFS
Early Years Foundation Stage is the curriculum used for the learning, development and care of children from birth to five years. Chinley Day Nursery use EYFS to support learning and through observation and planning of next steps for individual children we ensure our children are given the best support to develop.
Sensory Room
Our sensory room provides a relaxing atmosphere for our children where they can explore their senses using a range of resources and equipment to stimulate developing minds. The key senses we develop in our sensory room are touch, hearing, sight and smell.
Friendly Team
Our friendly approachable team are always happy to speak to you about any aspects about your child’s care and development. Each child has an allocated key person who is responsible for observations, planning and assessments for individual children in their key groups. Key persons build strong relationships with key groups and families.
Holiday Club
Runs every school holiday expect for 1 week at Christmas for when the nursery is closed. Children have the opportunity to meet new friends in a fun relaxed environment. Exciting themes and activities are planned by our holiday club coordinator along with the children for indoors and out.

Summer Events
22nd April
Earth Day
Today we will be celebrating earth day. The children will be engaging in earth arts and crafts and how we can be Eco friendly age appropriately. We will be helping to recycle by collecting junk modelling items for our next activity in May.
23rd April
St Georges Day
Today we will be celebrating St George’s Day at Nursery. We will be learning about the story of saint George, using saint George themed dough mats and lots of creative activities and experiences. Please come to Nursery dressed in Red and White.
6th May
Junk Modelling Week
This week we will be making our own creations with boxes, yogurts pots, kitchen rolls etc. So if you have any junk modelling items please do recycle them and bring them into nursery. Please no toilet rolls – hygiene reasons.
4th & 5th June
Photo Week
Pop up portraits will be in nursery on both dates taking individual and Graduation photographs for our school leavers. If your child does not attend nursery on a Tuesday or Wednesday, you are welcome to bring them into nursery to have their photo taken at 11.30am on either of the dates. Please also let the staff in the playroom know if you would like sibling photographs.
12th June
Father's Week
This week we will be making cards and surprises for the special people in our lives to celebrate Father’s day.
8th July
Progress Report Week
This week your child’s progress report will be ready for you to view on your child’s tapestry. They will be uploaded to your child’s tapestry by Friday 5th July. Please remember you will need to log into the online version to view reports. You will also have the opportunity to book time this week to discuss your child’s learning and development with their key person. If your child is due to transition to the next playroom over the summer, this week staff will also allow time for you to view their new play room, meet the staff and discuss how we intend to further support your child as they transition through nursery. Please speak to your child’s Key person to arrange a time. Children who have recently just had a 2 or 3 Year check done in Spring Term will not have another report, however the staff will update any progress made and you are still more than welcome to book time with your child’s Key person.
Children Transitioning to School will have a Transition Report done at a earlier date, depending on when your child is doing their visits to school.
15th July
Leavers Week
It’s that time of year when we get ready to say goodbye to all our children being their exciting journey to school. We have 22 Children leaving us for school this year. This week we will holding special graduation assemblies for our school leavers. They will be on Monday and Friday. Semone will post to your child’s Tapestry, which date your child’s graduation will take place on. This week we will be also having a leaver party, we are yet to set the date as we are waiting for the entertainer to come back to us with his availability. If your child does not attend nursery on the party day, we are hoping you bring them into nursery to join in the fun.
5th August
Sports Week
This week we will be exploring our physical abilities outdoors. Please come to nursery in appropriate clothing and footwear.
19th August
Messy Play Week
This week we will be exploring through our senses.
Staff Deployment
This Term Kelly will sadly transfer back to Charlestown, ready for her little boy starting school in the area in September. We hope to see her at Chinley again soon.
Alex will be returning to Chinley 5 days a week and will be back with Nicola in the Acorn Room.
Courtney will be returning from Charlestown for part of the week and joining the Pine room.
This term we also say goodbye to Iryna, we wish her the best of luck in her future career.
We would like to take this opportunity to Congratulate Becca on her pregnancy, Becca is due to begin her maternity around July.
Isabelle, whom has been on placement with us here at Chinley will be joining us through the summer months, coving staff holidays. Isabelle is amazing with the children, we quickly snapped her up as a member of staff. Welcome to the team come the Summer Isabelle.
Mel has increased her working pattern here with us, so you will be seeing more of Mel in the beech room.
School Leavers
If your child is term time only their last day will be within W/C 22ND July. If your child is not term time only please could you let us know your child’s leaving date for school as soon as possible. Thank you. Also please share to your child’s key person their allocated school to enable us to help further support your child with their transition to school.
Summer Months
Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the summer and brings to nursery sun cream and Hat. Thank you
Fundraising
This Term we plan to Raise money for Royal Manchester Children’s hospital and hopefully take part in the Teddy Toddle. We will update you with further information once we have confirmation that this event still takes place in 2024.
Nursery Trip – PRESCHOOL.
This Term we plan for a little trip out of Nursery up to Chinley Post office for the preschool children. The current interest in the room is the post office, where the children have been busy in their role play area posting out parcels and letters. We want to add a little capital culture and life experience for the children through extending this learning opportunity. So please keep a look out for your child’s posted out letter arriving through your door this term.

Before and After School Club
We take and pick up children from three local schools. Our school club children walk to and from school each day. We provide breakfast and tea and support the children with their homework, reading and they also have time to relax and play in our before and after school room and outdoor areas.
